Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy-duty wrecker trucks to right overturned vehicles using moveable or non-moveable booms and/or power winches.
• Rig various vehicles for towing or righting using approved procedures and techniques.
• Utilize booms to lift vehicles for towing and position vehicles in designated locations.
• Clear accidents involving heavy-duty vehicles from streets and highways efficiently and safely.
• Perform emergency repairs to ensure vehicles can operate or return to the shop for further repairs, including replacing hoses, wires, belts, and batteries, tightening parts, adding fuel, and performing basic inspections.
• Monitor instruments while the vehicle is in operation and take routine corrective actions if malfunctions are indicated.
• Maintain accurate trip records and report any defects in the vehicle operated, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle.
• Learn and navigate the geography of the area served.
• Service heavy wrecker equipment and make minor repairs and adjustments as needed.
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions accurately.
• Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods under adverse climatic conditions.
• Maintain a set of basic hand tools.
• Perform any related tasks as required.

Requirements:

• 2 years of heavy-duty towing experience
• Drivers Liscense, CDL-A
• Understanding of parts and operating principles of heavy-duty wreckers
• Competence in vehicle rigging techniques.
• Demonstrated knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with heavy-duty wrecker operations.

• Skilled in the safe and efficient operation of heavy wrecker trucks, both on and off the highway, in traffic, and under adverse climatic conditions.

Compensation:

Salary: $60,000 - $180,000
